What kind of aerosol paint is Samurai?+
Samurai uses NC modified acrylic resin. This NC modified acrylic resin
makes Samurai different from other brands in the market and provides
strength and quality to the paint.
How long can I store the paints?+
If unused, Samurai paints can be stored for years without expiring.
For Samurai 2K paints, once the chemicals have been mixed,
2K01 Top Clear Coat should be used within
4 hours, while 2K04, 2K05 and 2K06 Surfacers
should be used within 24 hours.
Other Samurai paints can be kept for years when stored properly.
Is Samurai Paint heat resistant?+
Most Samurai Paint products can withstand temperatures of up to
190°C. Samurai Hi-Temp Paint can withstand
approximately 600°C.
What is the difference between 1K and 2K?+
1K is a single-component coating that does not require
a separate hardener, catalyst or activator. It dries or cures on its own.
2K is a two-component coating that requires a hardener
before use. 2K coatings generally provide greater durability and are
especially suitable for applications such as topcoats.
With the Samurai 2K Aerosol System, you can achieve a professional
finish with the convenience of a spray can.
What area can one 400ml can of Samurai Paint cover?+
One 400ml can may cover approximately 1m² to 3m².
Coverage depends on the painter's skill, number of layers, thickness
of each layer, surface condition and colour selected.
How many cans can I use to paint my motorcycle?+
This depends on the motorcycle model and the parts being painted.
For fairings only on typical models such as XMAX, Raiders and MLCG,
approximately 2–3 cans of 400ml paint may be required.
Actual usage depends on application technique and painter experience.
Can I use Samurai together with other brands?+
We recommend that you do not use Samurai together with other brands.
Samurai has strong paint adhesion, and using it over incompatible paint
from another brand may cause the underlying coating to react or lift,
resulting in what is known as biting.
Can I use Samurai on fiberglass and other materials?+
Yes. Samurai can be used on materials such as fiberglass when properly
prepared. For best results, sand the surface, use
2K04 Surface Primer, apply the Samurai colour and finish
with 2K01 Top Clear Coat.
Can I use Samurai on chrome-finished items?+
Yes. Apply 2KPP Plastic Primer to the chrome-finished
item. Allow it to dry under hot sun for approximately
30–60 minutes, then sand to approximately
P320 before spray painting.
Can I use Samurai Paint on wood?+
Samurai Paint formulation is specifically designed for motorcycle
applications, so it is not generally recommended for wooden furniture.
If spraying on wood, the wood should first be processed with suitable
wood putty or filler before following the regular painting procedure.
